Sabio Scores, Conway Swims
December 19 Athletes of the Week
Our first winter Athletes of the Week are Selbin Sabio ‘23 and Mary Elizabeth Conway ‘23. Selbin had a great opening day versus Sayreville with 24 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Edison varsity boys basketball team.
“It feels great. I had a really good game on our opening night to help us get a win over a really good Sayreville side,” said Sabio.
Conway was unstoppable last Thursday for the varsity ladies swim team, breaking the record for the 500 freestyle. She also holds two other school records in the 100 and 200 freestyle. Congrats!
“She’s demonstrated tremendous leadership in setting goals and working to achieve them. We’re proud of her new record and expect to see more from her this season,” said Head Coach Mrs. Kaitlin Hoey.
