Bonds Runs, Appelman Bats

Bonds Runs
Racing on the track is our first athlete of the week, Jada Bonds ‘24. Bonds has been hitting amazing times with her races, including a recent personal best of 1:01.2 in the 400m race at the Husky Relays. Additionally, in her first 800m race, she ran an impressive 2:30. She has been an anchor with the teams’ meets at the Penn Relay and the National Qualified 4X400m relay. As a junior, Bonds has already created a name for herself on the track, but with future seasons ahead, she will continue to build on it.

Appelman Bats
Our second athlete of the week, Jaxon Appelman ‘23, can be found ready to bat or pitch at the Edison baseball field. Appelman has added up some impressive statistics so far this season, with a total of twenty hits, three home runs, and 41 strikeouts thrown. Some of the games this season have been his games, with a no-hitter and nineteen strikeouts against J.P. Stevens. On top of that, he also threw a shutout, seven strikeouts, and a solo homerun against Middlesex. With the game against Barnegat for the Autism Awareness Challenge game, Appelman went 2–2 with a double and another home run. With the baseball team’s season not ending soon, Appelman continues to impress on the field of Eagle red and gold.
