On May 18th, the annual Senior Awards Night took place in Edison High’s auditorium. This year’s ceremony, which recognized students’ academic, extracurricular, and personal achievements, lasted around three hours to accommodate a record number of nearly sixty participants.

During the ceremony, Principal Mr. Charles Ross was recognized for his school leadership and community impact, receiving the prestigious Grand Lodge Distinguished Citizenship Award from the Edison Elks Lodge. Neil Arestani ‘26 was also recognized for achieving a rare milestone due to securing an appointment to West Point, the United States Military Academy.

This year also introduced new scholarship opportunities, including the VALE Forever Scholarship, funded by a donation from alumni Brian Phuong ‘18 and Jesse Fields ‘17 through the success of their fashion brand. Another new addition was the Taylor Jengo Canvas of Dreams Scholarship, awarded to seniors planning to pursue a career in art education in honor of alumna Taylor Jengo ‘11. A third was the Michael Piccolo Scholarship, started by Business Education teacher Mr. Michael Piccolo in honor of his upcoming retirement.

Additionally, seniors received recognition from community organizations, including H2M Architects + Engineers, the Edison Elks, the Edison Cruisers Car Club, and the Energizing Young Voters organization, among many others.

The ceremony ended with a dessert reception hosted by Ms. Danielle Heath, Ms. Kathy Hendricks, and Ms. Meghan Reeves. Families and awardees also took photos in front of the backdrop made by Ms. Kelly Gavor and the National Art Honor Society, wrapping up a moving night supported by the school’s staff, chaperones, administration, and scholarship committee.
