Varsity tennis captain and Student Council Secretary Nandini Chandra ‘26 has been honored as Rotary’s Senior of the Month for June.
Throughout high school, Chandra has been actively involved in the Class of ‘26 class council and the SOAR mentorship program, where she helped fellow students navigate the college application process.
Her proudest athletic achievements came on the tennis court, where she won GMCs her sophomore year and placed again as a junior.
Chandra credits EHS Principal Mr. Charles Ross, Athletic Director Mr. David Sandaal, and tennis coaches Mr. Wesley Smith and Mr. David Legendre for their support throughout her four years at EHS, calling their impact monumental on her growth as both a student and an athlete. She also expresses gratitude to all of her teachers for their kindness and encouragement.
After graduation, Chandra will attend Skidmore College to study Human Physiology while continuing to compete in Division III tennis.
To underclassmen, she offers practical advice about navigating the unexpected.
“My biggest piece of advice to underclassmen would be not to limit themselves to one straightforward path,” said Chandra. “Plans don’t always work as expected, and sometimes things change, so it’s important to learn to pivot and manage accordingly. Not everything has to be absolutely perfect all the time, but as long as you try your best and work hard, everything usually works out in the end.”
