Edison competed at the Middlesex County Relays at South Brunswick from April 30 to May 1. With the divisional Middlesex relay title at stake, Edison won in an overwhelming manner, scoring over 100 points and beating out second-place Middlesex by more than fifty points. Along with their title, Edison excelled by winning medals across the board.

The success in both the novice and varsity Sprint medley relays played a key role in Edison’s victory. The novice SMR team clinched fifth place, earning valuable points thanks to the contributions of Zeeshan Ahmed ‘25 with a time of 22.9 in the 200 meter and Dedrick Harvey ‘25 with a time of 56.00 in the 400 meter, leading to a final time of 4:04.

“The past few months have had their fair share of adversity when it came to the distance running side of things,” said Jacob Badilla ’25. “I am glad to see the guys perform so well, and I’m excited for the future.”

In the 4×800 varsity distance relay, the Edison 800 team hit a season-best time of 8:26, placing them in the top ten, powered by a personal record of 2:01 from Moustafa Abdelaal ‘25 and a 2:02 from Bryce Hickerson ‘26.

“The 4×1600 had its fair share of difficulties,” said Mark Palledino ‘25. “There were a lot of people we were competing against, but I’m glad we still did well”

There were season bests across field and mile events with Tori’ahn Rattray ‘24’s 6–2 high jump, earning him fifth place and Rylee Mcevoy ‘25’s 5:37 in the mile, giving her the fastest mile time on the girls’ team.
