Alongside earning Athlete of the Week, MVP Award for Golf, and PSAT/NMSQT Commended Scholar, Ryan Lin ‘25 has been recognized as October’s Senior of the Month. Lin has been involved in the school community over his four years at EHS, receiving many awards and participating in many extracurriculars.

Specifically, during his time at EHS, Lin has been part of Marching Band, the Varsity Golf Team, the Winter Track Team, DECA, NHS, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Math Honor Society), Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (Spanish National Honor Society), and National English Honor Society. Lin is also a member of the STEM Academy and a tutor for schoolhouse.org.

As graduation nears, Lin is grateful for his parents supporting him through not only his academics but all his extracurricular activities. He is also thankful for his twin brother Ethan, who has been there for him through “moments of triumph and despair.” Lin expresses his gratitude to all his teachers and coaches for inspiring him to work hard academically and athletically. Lastly, Lin highlights his time in the marching band program, remembering the adults involved for making each season memorable.

Lin hopes to pursue and study computer engineering in his years at college. He expresses that as a student in the STEM Academy, engineering has always fascinated him. Though he is sure he would like to pursue computer engineering, he is still unsure of what career he wants to pursue.

After his four years at EHS, Lin advises the underclassmen to find their passions. He highlights that one should not pursue an activity solely due to the fact that their friends do it. Additionally, Lin mentions the importance of cherishing your memories, and having fun in the moment.
Four years in high school go by quickly, he adds, so it’s important to enjoy the current moments.

“The memories you create in high school will last a lifetime, so don’t take it for granted. Cherish these moments as they are temporary,” said Lin.
