In the heart of New Jersey where the urban suburb pulse quickens, rise children who want to start the day with happiness. And, they find happiness though soccer.

Soccer is Life

Categories:

Soccer is a beautiful and popular sport, played all over the world. Even though it has only been popular in the United States for the past 30 years, soccer has been a long time favorite almost everywhere else. The sport dates back to the earliest recorded game called cuju played in the Han Dynasty where players kicked a leather ball filled with feathers or hair into a small net

Even though it is centuries old, numerous people carry forward the ritual of playing. Soccer makes friendships, it creates better lives and also destroys many. “I think soccer is a great game because it brings people together. It doesn’t matter where you come from or what language you speak, soccer unites everyone,” stated Mr Teddy Sheringham, former English soccer player who played professional soccer for almost 25 years.

To see the ball, to run after it, makes me the happiest man in the world. Most of the friends that I have right now are through soccer. Soccer has always been my love, my passion, and my outlet. If I have a rough day, all I have to do is lace up my cleats and step onto the field and just like that, my worries drift away.

Soccer is not a sport. It’s a religion.

Soccer means everything to me. I can play it anytime, anywhere, against whoever dares to play against me.

A teen strikes the ball as hard as he can towards the goal. He is practicing to get better, and the weather doesn’t affect him. No matter what happens, he will be there on the field.

A JV goalkeeper springs to his right side, diving and catching the ball to help his team return victorious.

Scoring goals and leading the offensive line is nothing new for a local soccer champ who won numerous awards in India. Now he wants to do the same in New Jersey.

They told him to come to play at 6 but little did he know they meant 6 am. He was still happy as he did what he loves.

As the sun sets on Edison, few children plan to come out to play again the next day and they will play the sport that is beloved by all: soccer.
