Captain of the Varsity Baseball Team, Brody Ferrer has earned the privilege of being May’s Rotary Senior of the Month.
Ferrer attributes his success in high school and his recognition for this award to his ability to balance his academic life with the demands of sports. He recognizes the challenges he has faced throughout his high school career, which have taught him the importance of balance.
“Receiving such an honor is extremely rewarding and makes the challenges I faced in high school feel worthwhile,” said Ferrer.
Throughout high school, Ferrer expresses his gratitude to his family for supporting him throughout the ups and downs of high school. He also demonstrates his appreciation for the relationships he built with teammates and coaches on the baseball field, as well as the relationships he built with teachers and classmates in the classroom.
After graduating, Ferrer plans to attend Middlesex College and then transfer to Rutgers to major in Sports Management. He aspires to reach his ultimate goal of becoming a successful sports agent in the future.
Over his four years, Ferrer will miss the support of teammates, coaches, and teachers who have helped him in managing both his sports and several college-level courses every year, which is something that EHS has taught and instilled in him. Ferrer expresses that EHS has made clear the value of work ethic and time management, which he has achieved through asking for help, whether that be from his friends or teachers.
“Learning the importance of a work ethic and time management helped me complete each task on time and to the best of my abilities, despite having to come home from a long practice or game,” said Ferrer.
