Edison High senior Dhruv Shidhaye ’22 loves to swim, does STEM-related activities, and makes the world a better place. Certainly, he has made good on his time at Edison High School despite some obstacles.

The October Senior of the Month Shidhaye faced many challenges during his first year in high school, including a fractured wrist and personal conflicts. However, by persevering through difficulties, he learned to manage his time and become more independent.

Shidhaye is passionate about STEM, helping the world, and educating students through his interest in artificial intelligence. He has been swimming since 3rd grade and is the captain of the Varsity Swim team. He swims in these events: 500 Free (Freestyle in meters), 100 Fly (Butterfly in meters), and 100 Free (Freestyle in meters). A dedicated scholar athlete, Shidhaye has guided the team during the tough pandemic with his strong mindset.

“Success is wherever you are able to fulfill your passion,” Shidhaye said.

This passion and commitment led Shidhaye to build his first computer. From then on, he has devoted most of his free time towards his passion for STEM, which has made him who he is today. He plans to give back to the community through volunteering, clothing/food drives, and park cleanups.  In the future, he plans on pursuing a career related to Artificial Intelligence.

Shidhaye is a driven student who is heartfelt about STEM, enjoys swimming, and is always optimistic.

“Sometimes you just have to trust the process and work toward this end goal of whatever your definition of success would be,” he advises to the Class of ’25.
