In 2022, when you think of basketball, you remember Nicholas Barnes ’22: the senior who made basketball history by hitting 1000 points. In the midst of this achievement, Barnes has also been named April’s Senior of The Month. 

Barnes has been an active basketball player throughout high school. He has served as captain and starting point guard for the basketball team. In addition to winning Athlete of the Week, he was selected for all divisions and all conferences in his senior year. In terms of awards, he was given the Most Valuable Player award and Robert Coward award. 

During his time at Edison High, Barnes would like to thank Mr. Roma for providing lots of support throughout high school.

“[Roma] is the reason that Edison feels like a home to me,” said Barnes.

To the incoming freshmen, Barnes suggests staying positive and focused, even through the toughest times.

“Soak in every moment you can because high school goes by fast,” added Barnes.
