Edison Public Library Announces Teen Short Story Writing Contest
Press Release
October 25, 2022
In honor of November’s National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), Edison Public Library Teen Advisory Board (TAB) would like to encourage Edison teens, ages 11-18, to participate in a short story writing contest. Interested teens can pick up a flyer, Tips for Short Story Writing from NaNoWriMo’s Young Writers Program, at any Edison Public Library branch. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 pm, Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
Submissions can cover any topic but must be never-published, original works of fiction. Teens may submit their work in one of two age categories: Middle School (ages 11 – 13), and High School (ages 14 – 18). Teens may review all rules and submit their work electronically via this link https://bit.ly/EPLSSContest. Submissions that do not conform to all posted rules will be rejected without notice.
Two winners, one in each age category, will be notified by December 19, 2022. Winners’ names and/or photographs may be used in the Library’s newsletter, website, and/or social media.
