Alongside his Science Olympiad titles and being an experienced musician, Mithil Mishra ‘25 now adds Rotary’s January Senior of the Month to his list of accolades.
Mishra is currently Co-Captain of the Math and Robotics teams as well as Co-Secretary General of Model UN. Music has also played a significant role in his time at EHS and his overall development as a person. He has played the piano for twelve years and is a part of the EHS orchestra, where he plays the violin.
Mishra credits his dedication to his extracurricular activities and his public speaking skills as significant factors in earning this title. Mishra says EHS has helped him the most regarding those public speaking skills. Coming into high school, Mishra was afraid to talk to anyone and kept mostly to himself. However, much later, he became a much better public speaker and wasn’t afraid to voice his thoughts. He credits his teachers for his development, mentioning how they were easy to talk to and helped him positively influence others while creating meaningful relationships with other mentors and peers.
Mishra expresses his gratitude to his teachers, who were a major part of his high school career and helped him develop in various ways. He is also thankful to the administration at EHS for giving him opportunities to express himself and make connections within the school community. He credits these clubs with helping him find his identity and make many friends.
After graduation, Mishra plans to pursue a career in quantum computing. He is committed to the Vagelos Integrated Program in Energy Research (VIPER) program at the University of Pennsylvania and will join the campus next fall. Mishra plans to major in astrophysics and electrical engineering to pursue a successful career.
To current and future underclassmen, Mishra advises getting an adequate amount of sleep. He stresses the importance of self-care and outside commitments and habits.
“My grades shot up when I got more sleep,” said Mishra. “My performance mentally and physically got better as I improved my health because I could clearly think.”
