DECA Co-President and Eagle’s Eye Copy Editor Archana Maryada ‘25 has been honored as Rotary’s April Senior of the Month.
Alongside her role as president in DECA, Maryada has shown her business skills by winning a Top Roleplay Award for her event in the club two years in a row. Additionally, Maryada further showcases her business experience as the State Finance Director for the New Jersey High School Democrats, where she has had the opportunity to make an impact on the political community.
Maryada expresses her gratitude toward the support of her parents, whom she recognizes as her “constant support system,” whom she can always lean on. She also recognizes her teachers for always believing in her and supporting her ambitions, even during times when she herself did not. She specifically thanks Business teacher Ms. Lynne Tierney as a role model, who has supported her in all of her endeavors throughout the past four years in and out of the classroom.
Maryada expresses how she will miss the overall experience of EHS: looking back on the times spent with her friends in classes, quick runs to the Java Lounge every other Friday, and those moments in study hall full of laughter and fun.
“The connections we’ve built, the memories we’ve made, and just the everyday moments that made high school so unique,” said Maryada.
After graduation, Maryada will be attending NYU’s Stern School of Business, where she will pursue a Bachelor of Science in business with a concentration in finance. Maryada’s goal is to pursue a career in the investment banking and private equity industry, where she can use her skills to create financial opportunities for underserved communities.
To future and current underclassmen, Maryada expresses the importance of impact, not the simple and constant adding to college applications.
“Don’t just aim for titles—aim for impact,” said Maryada. “Work towards not only helping yourself, but helping those around you in and out of school.”.
