Murphy Pitches
Connor Murphy ‘26, a player on EHS’s baseball team, is our first athlete of the week. Throughout the season, Murphy has been a consistently talented player, contributing to his team’s nine-game winning streak. Recently, against JP Stevens, he struck out nine and went two-three with an RBI; against Metuchen, he went one-two with two RBIs. Also, in a game against Old Bridge, he struck out six and had two hits. Overall, Murphy’s skilled dexterity in baseball propelled him and his team to success.
Lin Drives
Not just an adroit athlete, but also October’s Rotary Senior of the Month, Ryan Lin ‘25 is our second athlete of the week. In his recent games, he has masterfully defeated his competition, scoring at rates of near perfection. For instance, against South Plainfield at Plainfield West Nine, Lin scored a 37, which was just four above par. Against Metuchen and St. Joes, whom Lin played against both at Rutgers’ golf course, he scored a 36, which was even par. His remarkable ability and experience have driven our school to success over Lin’s four years at Edison High.
Kovalchuk Scores
Our last athlete of the week is Katherine Kovalchuk ‘26, a competitor on EHS’s girls lacrosse team. Throughout the season, Kovalchuk has scored six goals, six assists, and 29 draw controls, showing her true dominance in her sport. More specifically, in a game against JP Stevens, she had two assists and seven draw controls; in another game against JP, she had one goal and eight draw controls. Ultimately, Kovalchuck’s dedication and determination inspire her team and Edison High to victory.
