Model UN Secretary General, Science Olympiad Co-Captain, and Eagle’s Eye Editor-in-Chief Aditya Rao ‘26 has been named Rotary’s September Senior of the Month.
Throughout his four years at Edison High, Rao has been deeply involved in the school’s academic and extracurricular life. His willingness to participate, stay accountable, and contribute to class discussions has helped him succeed academically and build meaningful connections with his peers.
“I feel accomplished,” Rao said. “I’ve done a lot in and outside school over the past few years at Edison High, and it feels great for my work to be acknowledged.”
Rao credits his family, friends, and teachers for their support throughout his journey. He is also grateful to STEM Academy adviser Ms. Kristen Tsaoys, who has guided him throughout his high school career.
“She’s helped streamline my high school experience,” Rao noted.
When reflecting on his favorite moments at EHS, Rao fondly recalls traveling for club competitions.
“We’ve had a mixture of ups and downs in performances, but it’s always a great time to meet and learn from lots of new people and have fun on different side quests between competition sessions,” he said.
After graduation, Rao plans to major in engineering, a field that matches his curiosity and drive for problem-solving. He believes the skills he developed in EHS—critical thinking, collaboration, and communication—will carry him through college and life.
Rao advises underclassmen to take advantage of the many opportunities and interests EHS has to offer early on.
“Get involved early,” he said. “You have lots of time to explore your interests and try a bit of everything before you settle on a few core interests. During this time, you get the chance to learn about various topics, but also get to meet new people and practice soft skills.”
