Alvin Wu is a student at the STEM Academy and former Sports Editor for The Eye. He joined The Eye during remote learning in his freshman year in 2020. As a staff writer, he covered Doc Peterson’s memorial service and attempted to write about the school district’s in-person instruction in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Assigned to Sports from 2022 to 2023, he oversaw the department’s shift to regular coverage–unprecedented for the newspaper–and established standards for season and athlete highlights while reporting on the ground at sports games. He presently spends his time alternating between taking naps and slacking off
