On October 16 at 6:30 p.m., the varsity boys soccer team kicked off their game against Carteret. They went on to defeat Carteret 5–4. The Eagles honored their seniors: Aprant Sahoo ‘26, Sanjit Mandava ‘26, Emmanuel Kostis ‘26, Aryan Shah ‘26, Anthony Cedeno ‘26, Kevin Robledo ‘26, Zidan Elhatab ‘26, Danny Godavarthi ‘26, and Prayagkumar Patel ‘26.
“That evening felt different from any other match because I wanted it to be a standout night—not just for me, but for all the seniors on our team. It was our senior night, and we wanted to make it unforgettable,” said Kostis.
Edison scored twice in the first half to lead 2–0 at halftime.
“One of the best moments of the match was when our striker Emmanuel scored the first goal of the game. It was literally thirty seconds into the game, and the entire atmosphere became really exciting because we scored so early into the game,” said Sahoo.

In the second half, Edison scored three goals while Carteret scored four goals, setting the final score to 5–4.
Reflecting upon the match, the senior Eagles felt that their collective hard work and collaboration helped them win the game.
“The entire team played amazingly, which led to our victory,” said Godavarthi.
Kostis scored a hat trick, while Shah and Tiago Viera ’29 each scored a goal.
“Emmanuel Kostis scored 3 goals and continues to exhibit the reason he is considered one of the top players in the Greater Middlesex Conference,” said Coach Steve Rubin.
Having been both senior night and a victory, the match was significant to the team.
“The crowd’s cheers, my teammates’ excitement, and the pride I felt in that moment made it something I’ll never forget. Looking back on my senior season, I’m proud to have finished strong with 20 goals and 3 assists,” said Kostis.
The season ended 5–12–1 total and 2–6 in the White Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) division.
“The future looks bright for the Eagles; valuable game experience was gained by our young players. I’m looking forward to next season with the very talented returning group,” said Coach Rubin.
