As the spring sports season begins so many sports are kicking off. This year the Boys Lacrosse season has started off strong. This year they have many new players on the field as well as a new head coach, Mr. Mike Yascko. Kyle Napp ’23, also a soccer player, described his experience so far and what originally drew him to play lacrosse.

“I wanted to play a spring sport since I had to give up soccer and it seemed fun because it’s a contact sport. Also, my friends played the sport. As for the season so far it has been alright. Although we lost our first two games pretty badly I am hopeful we will be able to beat Sayreville,” said Napp.

Shaun Bali ’23 told us about how the season has been for him so far. Bali is a new goalie who at the game against North Brunswick made 11 saves.

Starting off as a manager definitely gave me an opportunity to learn the game beforehand, but playing on the field is a surreal experience. To work and play as a team is a feeling that simply cannot be had as a spectator of the game, and getting to know everybody and knowing that everyone has each other’s backs compares to nothing,” said Bali.

I wanted to play a spring sport since I had to give up soccer and it seemed fun because it’s a contact sport. Also, my friends played the sport. As for the season so far it has been alright. Although we lost our first two games pretty badly I am hopeful we will be able to beat Sayreville. Overall the 2022 season has been quite amusing thus far.

The team has won 1 of their 5 games so far but junior Sebastian Pridady hopes to change this in the future. Sebastian has made a total of 10 goals so far this season. “The team this season has finally begun to value each other, where we have learned to work together as a unit and have a very fun time playing the sport together. We are hoping to take the GMC White Conference championship and hang a banner within the gym.” Sebastian Pridaday ’23
