Austin Pitches, Kallam Swings

Austin Pitches

Our first athlete of the week is Ava Austin ‘24 from the varsity girls softball team. Austin has had a great start to the season so far, with eleven strikeouts against Perth Amboy and nine against Piscataway. She went three for five in both games and totaled five RBIs. This season, Austin has a .559 average, nineteen hits, and has pitched 45 strikeouts. She continues to add to her stats during her final season here at the nest.

Kallam Swings

Our second athlete of the week is Chetan Kallam ‘26 from the varsity boys tennis team. Kallam plays second singles for the Eagles. Recently, he defeated the second singles player from JFK by a score of 6–2, 6–2. Against Sayreville, he defeated the singles player by a score of 6–2, 6–2. Additionally, he has wins over Edison Magnet and Wardlaw and has a 4–0 overall record this season. Kallam has helped lead the team to a 4–1 start and continues to be an MVP as a sophomore for the team.
