The Edison High School girls’ bowling team had a strong showing against Middlesex High School on January 8, 2026, finishing with a 2,003-pin series and standout games of 708 and 711. The win, contributing to the overall season standing, highlighted the team’s dedication as they ended with a record of 12–3 in the white division.

“This season has been amazing for all of us. We’ve grown so much as bowlers and as people,” said Saisaanvi Bothala ‘26.

Players emphasized staying calm and supportive throughout the match. “We were focused on maintaining confidence and not getting discouraged after a bad hit,” said Zara Hafeez ‘28. “We kept picking each other up and helping one another.” That support showed on the lanes too, as the team stayed composed and avoided letting mistakes affect their overall momentum.

A key moment came early as the team scored high (over 700 points) in the first two games. Much of this success was attributed to player Alina Nasrullah ‘28, who said, “Keeping that moment and high energy going really helps us move up in the rankings.”These early high scores gave Edison a strong foundation, allowing the team to bowl with confidence throughout the game and in the final round.

Head coach Ms. Tracie Smith credited the team’s unity and resilience for their continued success against Middlesex.

“The Lady Eagles are a close group of athletes who support each other through thick and thin. The team spirit is always high before a match, and the girls work hard to keep it that way during the match,” said Smith. She added that the mindset helps players stay focused and bounce back quickly when things do not go as planned.
