Starting off the season strong, the girls golf team has won three matches in a row against Mother Seton, Metuchen, and South Brunswick.
“Coming into the season, there was a lot of uncertainty, as many of our starters had limited varsity match experience. It has been encouraging to see several of these players get off to a strong start and grow into their roles,” said Coach Mr. Frank Juliano.
Edison achieved their first win of the season against Mother Seton with a score of 184–212. Katie Hahn ‘26, Aashi Tamboli ‘26, and Lily Perry ‘28 all had excellent performances, defeating their respective opponents with scores of 35, 47, and 48. Kalina Petrova ‘27 and Suri Neoh ‘28 both played well, with Petrova scoring 54 and Neoh scoring 56 in her first varsity match.
“I was extremely nervous and worried, especially the first one, considering the fact that this is my first year on the golf team, with little to no experience,” said Neoh. “Throughout the game, I got used to the way a game of golf works and its flow, so it slowly brought my confidence up on how well I’d do.”

In their next match against Metuchen, Edison won once again with a score of 183–193. Once again, Hahn performed exceptionally well with a score of 36, the lowest score of the match. Irene Choe ‘27 also performed strongly, placing fourth with a score of 48.
“The emotions I experience during matches can be complex. I tend to get very nervous on the morning of a match, but once I hit the first ball, I start to relax and find my comfort zone,” said Choe.
Edison also defeated South Brunswick 182–188, bringing their win streak to three. Hahn and Choe took first and second places with scores of 38 and 41. Tamboli similarly performed well with a score of 50.
“One standout has been Aashi Tamboli, who, despite being relatively inexperienced at the varsity level, has started the season exceptionally well,” said Juliano. “Having been part of the program for four years and consistently working to improve her game, it’s rewarding to see her hard work pay off as she contributes to the team’s success.”
As the season continues, the team continues its strive for improvement through each match and practice, aiming to extend its winning streak and build momentum for the remainder of the year.
